The staff at Wisdom Denture Clinic are all very professional and friendly. The receptionist are lovely. Paul made me a set of dentures (full upper and a partial plate lower). I have never had such a comfortable great looking set of dentures like these and I have had dentures for 44 years now. The upper denture needed no adjustments at all and the lower partial plate only needed to be adjusted a couple of times. Paul does a wonderful job and nothing is too much trouble for him. I have never really been able to wear a bottom partial plate before visiting Wisdom Denture Clinic. It always felt like I had a scratchy spider for my lower teeth. Paul had changed that for me. Both top and bottom dentures are very comfortable and I can finally chew my food properly after all these years of wearing dentures. Some days I think “oh I haven’t put my bottom teeth in this morning, then I run my tongue over my bottom denture and there it is. It feels so natural and comfortable. I am truly grateful to Paul and Wisdom Denture Clinic for my new teeth, and also grateful that the couple of times I needed an adjustment I was made to feel comfortable as everyone who works there is so friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. I highly recommend Wisdom Denture Clinic to anyone who is looking to have dentures made. Vada AnderjeianJune 22, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Check up, scale & cleans, fluoride & x-rays
Regular 6 monthly check up, scale and cleans are highly recommended for children and adults of ALL ages. As hard plaque builds up over our teeth and gums and cannot be removed by simple at home brushing and flossing. A professional scale and clean is necessary to remove this hard plaque and help to remove minor staining. Once plaque has been removed it is then more visible for the dentist to detect any early stages of decay, gum disease, oral cancer or any other problems that may arise.
Dental x-rays are also highly recommended every 2 years. This is to check for any infection or decay that may be happening between the teeth or under the gums.Clenching/grinding
Excessive clenching and grinding can cause hypersensitive teeth, aching jaw muscles, and headaches. Clenching can be caused by stress and anxiety, abnormal bite, missing or crooked teeth or a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea. Most clenching and grinding can go unrecognised as it often occurs during our sleep.
It is important to see a dentist if you feel you may be clenching or grinding as if this is left untreated your natural teeth can be worn down to root stumps. Once diagnosed there are dental appliances called ‘splints’ that can assist patients and prevent damage from happening to their natural teeth. A splint is a clear retainer that is worn over the teeth at night for patient to prevent grinding their natural teeth.
At Wisdom Denture and Dental Clinic, we offer digital milled splints that are made on site. These splints are digitally designed which means the fit is 100% as there is no human error. Our splints not only fit perfectly over the teeth, but they also are made with a strong material to avoid the patient from grinding it down or breaking it.

Crowns & bridges
Dental extractions and wisdom teeth
A dental extraction is where a tooth is professionally removed from a patient’s mouth. This is done by firstly numbing the area with a local anaesthetic injection and where the dentist then uses professional equipment to remove the tooth from the socket. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly to remove teeth which have become unrestorable through tooth decay, periodontal disease, or dental trauma.

Dental fillings
Dental fillings are where a tooth is either chipped, decayed or discoloured and requires a repair. If a tooth that requires a filling is left untreated it is more prone to further damage, so it is highly recommended to have it checked. At our clinic we use tooth coloured filling materials to repair a tooth so that it blends in with the shade of your natural tooth and surrounding teeth.
Depending on the size of the decay or broken tooth will determine the length of your appointment. Most fillings can take up to 30 mins per filling where the dentist will clean the infected area by removing any decay in the tooth, the tooth is then prepped and restored.
If you are ever unsure whether you may need a filling it is always best to see your dentist to have the tooth professionally checked.Fissure seals
Dental fissure sealants are a protective layer applied to the grooves, known as fissures, and pits of the back molars. They help to prevent food from emerging into the grooves which can cause decay. A fissure sealant is done using a tooth coloured material and is a quick procedure done by our dentist.
It is recommended that for some patients (usually patients with deep fissures) to get a fissure sealant at an early stage to prevent decay. At 6 years of age we get our first set of molar teeth, therefore from this age you can get this preventative treatment.
A fissure sealant will usually fall off after about 6 months, as it is only a thin layer that will usually start to wear down after time. Therefore, it is a good idea to visit the dentist every 6 months for your routine check up, as the dentist can check the condition of the sealant. Even if a sealant only last 6 months or even years, if it comes out it can still be re applied.

Root canal treatment
A root canal is a treatment required for a tooth that cannot be simply filled as the tooth has become badly decayed or the pulp becomes infected. The pulp consists of specialised dental cells, blood vessels, tissue fibres and some nerve fibres located in the hollow space in the central part of the tooth. If this area becomes infected the tooth would then require root canal treatment, where each nerve (pulp) of the tooth is removed, this involves dental files that clean out the infected area and a filling material is then placed.
Root canal treatment usually requires three appointments and has a has a success rate of about 80%. Once treatment has been completed the treated tooth should last a very long time, that is if you maintain good oral hygiene and generally look after your teeth.Teeth Whitening
